Research demonstrates financial infrastructure is best enjoyed with a cocktail. For imbibing readers, below are a collection of my favorite ‘specs’.

For convenience, these are broken into the two categories I personally contemplate when considering my preferred cocktail of the moment - “Boozy Sippers” and “Soothing Refreshers”, each list sorted alphabetically.

Boozy Sippers

Stir with ice. Serve down.

Chandelier Flip (William Elliot)

  • 1.25 oz Tawny Port
  • 0.75 oz Cognac
  • 0.25 oz Herbal Liquer
  • 0.25 oz Cinnamon Simple Syrup
  • 1 whole Egg
  • 0.5 tsp Saline Solution (2 water : 1 salt)

Combine, dry shake. Then shake with ice, serve up. Top with Whipped Cream made with few dashes of angosutra.

Coco Alexander (Shawn Lickliter)

  • 2 oz Cognac
  • 0.5 oz Creme de Cacao
  • 0.5 oz Cream of Coconut

Shake with ice, serve up.

Dubliner (Gaz Regan)

  • 2 oz Whiskey
  • 0.5 oz Sweet Vermouth
  • 0.5 oz Grand Marnier
  • 1 dash Orange Bitters
  • Maraschino Cherry Garnish

Stir with ice. Serve down without ice.

Fancy Free

  • 2 oz Rye
  • 0.5 oz Luxardo Maraschino

First Time Caller (Citrus Club)

  • 2.5 oz Aged Rum
  • 0.25 oz Creme de Cacao

  • 2 dashes Angosutra

Build in glass with large cube.

Godfather

  • 2 oz Scotch
  • 1 oz Amaretto

Stir with ice. Serve down.

Amaretto Sour (Morganthaler)

  • 1.5 oz Amaretto

  • 1 tsp 2:1 Simple Syrup

Shake without ice. Add ice, shake, serve up.

  • 2 oz Applejack

Aviation

  • 2 oz Gin

Bananas Foster (Johny Swet)

  • 2 oz Dark Rum
  • 1 oz Banana Liquer
  • 1 tsp Brown Sugar
  • Banana Chunks

Muddle banana with sugar, then shake all ingredients with ice. Serve down with ice.

Banana Snowman

  • 1 oz Vodka
  • 0.5 oz Banana Liquer
  • 1 oz Heavy Cream
  • 0.25 oz Coconut Sugar Syrup
  • Banana chunks

Muddle banana. Shake with ice, serve up. Garnish with nutmeg.

Bella Luna

  • 2 oz Gin
  • 0.75 oz Elderflower Liquer
  • 0.5 oz Violet Liquer
  • 0.75 oz Lemon Juice
  • 1 tsp Simple Syrup

Shake with ice. Serve up.

Bee’s Knees

  • 2 oz Gin
  • 0.75 oz Lemon Juice
  • 0.75 oz Honey Syrup

Shake with ice. Serve up.

Brown Derby

  • 2 oz Bourbon
  • 1 oz Grapefruit Juice
  • 1 tsp Lemon Juice
  • 0.5 oz Honey Syrup

Shake with ice. Serve up.

Burro

  • 1.5 oz Aged Tequila
  • 0.25 oz Absinthe
  • 0.75 oz Lime Juice
  • 0.75 oz Pineapple Juice
  • 0.25 oz Simple Syrup
  • 1 oz Ginger Beer

Shake all with ice except ginger beer. Pour, top with ginger beer.

Caipirinha

  • 2 oz Cachaça
  • 0.75 oz Simple syrup
  • 6 lime wedges

Muddle lime with simple syrup. Shake and pour with ice into double glass.

Cousins’ Punch (Currencci original)

  • 2 oz Dark Rum
  • 1.5 oz Light Rum
  • 4 oz Tropical Juice
  • 0.5 oz Lime Juice
  • 1 dash Angostura
  • 1 dash Orange Bitters
  • Ground Nutmeg Garnish

Shake with ice, serve in tall glass over ice.
